Here's a new Starter Ring Gear for the following models from Triumph -

TRIUMPH

Triumph Herald    (1959-71)

Triumph Vitesse   (1962-71)

(Includes Vitesse 1600cc & 2.0)

This fits round your engine flywheel and the starter motor engages it's teeth to turn your engine.

With time the teeth become worn away and your starter motor will jam so that you have to rock the car back and forward in gear to free it off - then try again.

After more wear the starter motor will just skip over the teeth of the ring gear making a noise.

If either of these happen you need to buy this ring gear.

To fit this you have to take out the gearbox, remove your old ring gear by hacksawing it off.

You then have to heat up this new ring gear with a gas torch so that it expands. You then place it over your flywheel and it will cool and shrink to fit.

From 1965- 67 some Herald 1200's  were fitted with this Coil Spring Type clutch and some with the Diaphram Type clutch.

How To check -

Take out the Clutch Slave Cylinder.

If you have an Alloy Slave Cylinder where the Groove for the Pinch Bolt goes all the way round then you need this Coil Spring clutch.

If you have the Steel / Alloy cylinder with the Groove for the Pinch Bolt is only on One Side then you need the later Diaphram clutch - Not this one.

Here's a new pair of Master Cylinder Covers (x2) for the Clutch & Brake on the following models from Triumph -

These are the same for the clutch and the brake master cylinders, these are new and flexible - Not bloated, oil stained, stifff, brake fluid stained or split like they get after some time!

Apart from looking fine these prevent dust and corrosion building up on your master cylinders.

They also seal the bulkhead when fitted so prevent water dripping down onto the pedals and making a puddle in the footwell.

Here’s a new Oil Pressure Relief Spring & Valve Kit  for the following models from Triumph -

TRIUMPH

Triumph Herald (948cc, 1147cc & 1296cc)     (1959- 71)  

This kit regulates the Engine Oil Pressure by stopping oil dropping back into the sump after it's been round the engine.

If you have low oil pressure this could be a very easy way to fix it. 

The Spring & Plunger are accessed by removing the a Nut on the side of the engine block - Usually just under the Distributor.

Symptoms of worrn bush kits could be rear wheel steering when you accelerate or brake. These kits are also useful for any chassis restoration.

You have here two sets of them so you can replace both sides at once.

These models do not use Valve stem seals like more modern cars.

The kit includes a Left & Right trunnion - Essential for any front suspension rebuild.

(These must be filled with the correct oil, they should not be used with grease as it does not flow enough).

Here's a new pair of Front Brake Discs (x2) for the following models from Triumph  -

Triumph Vitesse 2.0 Litre    (1966- 71)

(Not for Vitesse 1600cc of 1962- 66)

These are the same each side and easy to replace, no special tools required.

However it is recommended that you bolt the discs up using a Torque Wrench (32-35 lb/ft), this is to ensure the discs are bolted down evenly. Also recommended that you fit new brake pads at the same time. (See my other listing).

Here's a new Core Plug Set for the following 6 cylinder models models from Triumph -

These plugs are pressed into the engine block to fill up holes left when manufacturing the engine.

After a long time they rust and you start to leak water, if you keep your car full of Anti-Freeze this helps protect them against rust.

It's very easy to change these, to remove the old ones you knock a sharp scredriver through the old core plug and lever it out. You then press the new core plug into the block, put a flat bit of wood over if and hit it home! (You'll need to drain the water out of the engine / radiator first!)
