These plugs are pressed into the engine block to fill up holes left when manufacturing the engine.

After a long time they rust and you start to leak water, if you keep your car full of Anti-Freeze this helps protect them against rust.

It's very easy to change these, to remove the old ones you knock a sharp scredriver through the old core plug and lever it out. You then press the new core plug into the block, put a flat bit of wood over if and hit it home! (You'll need to drain the water out of the engine / radiator first!)

This is a new Lower Steering Joint (Upgrade) for the following models from Lotus -

This will solve the problem of having lots of play in the steering.

It fits on the end of the steering column and attaches to the steering rack.

The factory originally fitted a different type to the Spitfire / Herald which had rubbers in it that easily perished resulting in lots of steering play. (I also have the original type joint also avaialable).

This has a Universal Joint instead so will not be affected by engine oil and will last much longer without gradual deterioration.

It is about a centimetre 'longer' than the original Herald / Spitfires type which means you'll need to move the steering column back.  (Easy - slacken the 2 nuts on top of the black steering column clamp and then there's another two bolts near the pedals - Job done)

(You must identify your caliper type, if you take out the brake pads and look at the pistons you'll see they are surrounded by a rubber ring. If that rubber ring is held in place by a metal clip then these won't suit, also you can see in the photos the rubber ring I'm pointing to is quite thick).

You get a pair of Pistons here which is enough pistons to repair x1 caliper, quite easy to fit as well!

Please change the quantity to x2 if you want to replace the Pistons for both Calipers.
