The parts in the small plastic bag are the 'acorns' for where the leads screw in.

It's a non Ballast coil for use with Screw-In Leads (Not Push- In Leads).

This function of this coil is to generate the 000's of volts required by your spark plugs, they deteriorate with age and the insulation between the wires inside can breakdown and therefore the coil needs replacing once in a while.
