Here's a new pair of Front Rubber Doughnuts (x2) for the following models from Triumph -

 

 

TRIUMPH

 

Triumph 1300 FWD     (1965- 70)
Triumph 1500 FWD     (1970- 73)

 

 

I'm selling them as a pair as it is usual to replace both sides simultaneously so you are bidding for a pair of them.

 

These Rubber Doughnuts are located on the inner ends of the driveshafts, they should be inspected twice yearly.

 

These Rubber Doughnuts come already 'compressed' with the steel bands round them.

 

 

To replace the Rubber Doughnuts -

 

1) Don't remove the band round the Doughnut

2) Remove the 6 bolts that go through the old Rubber Doughnut, turning the road wheel so each comes within easy reach

3) Remove the brake drum, central hub nut + washer. Mark the flanges so the new Doughnut can be fitted in exactly the same position as the old.

4) Press the outer drive shaft from the hub assembly (Churchill tool S109B is recommended).

5) Remove the stoneguard and spacer from the outer shaft.

6) Fit the new Doughnut by feeding the outer driveshaft through the new doughnut and secure it there with the 3 bolts.

7) Replace the stoneguard and spacer using a suitable drift.

9) Insert the threaded end of the shaft back into the hub and replace the hub nut with it's washer.

10) Put the other 3 bolts through the new doughnut so it is attached to the inner driveshaft.

11) Refit the brake drum then the other 3 bolts through the new doughnut so it is attached to the inner driveshaft.

12) Using a torque wrench tighten the bolts through the doughnut to a torque os 65-70 Lb/ft.

12) Remove the outer steel band that is around the outside of the doughnut.

13) Job done!!
